Simple Installation Guide
1 Download & Extract
Download the SmartAds Chrome extension ZIP file and save it in a permanent folder on your computer. It's important that you do not delete this folder later.
Once downloaded, unzip or extract the file to create a new folder containing all the necessary files for the extension.
Important
The extracted folder must remain in place as Chrome will load the extension directly from this location. Moving or deleting this folder will cause the extension to stop working.
2 Install in Chrome
Open Google Chrome and follow these steps:
- Click on the three dots menu in the top-right corner of Chrome
- Go to "Extensions" and then click on "Manage Extensions"
- Enable "Developer Mode" using the toggle switch in the top-right corner
- Click the "Load unpacked" button
- Browse to the unzipped folder you created and select it
Once you click "OK," the SmartAds Chrome extension will be installed and activated.
3 Configure Your API Key
After installation, you need to set up your OpenAI API key:
- Click on the extensions icon in the Chrome toolbar
- Select SmartAds from the list to open the SmartAds dashboard
- Navigate to the Settings tab
- Enter your OpenAI API key in the designated field

Important: Add Credits to Your OpenAI Account
Before using SmartAds, make sure to add credits to your OpenAI account. You can do this by visiting the OpenAI Billing Dashboard.
Image generation typically costs 5-20 cents per image, so a small amount of credits will go a long way!
If you don't have an API key yet, you can generate one quickly by visiting the OpenAI website.
